The Institute of Politics Director's Internship program arranges paid summer internship opportunities for returning Harvard College undergraduates interested in exploring a summer in politics and public service. This summer, the IOP will offer over 100 Director’s Internships throughout the United States and abroad.
IOP Director's Interns are responsible for completing 10 weeks of full-time, substantive work and will be fully funded by the IOP in the amount $5000 domestically (international stipends follow Harvard recommendations by location and range between $5000 and $7000). Additionally, the Priscilla Chan Summer Service Award will cover the summer earnings contribution for students on financial aid who are accepted into the Director's Internship program. Host Organization Description
The Igarapé Institute is an independent think and do tank based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil devoted to evidence-based policy and action on complex security, justice and development challenges in Brazil, Latin America, and Africa. The Institute’s goal is to stimulate debate, foster connections and trigger action. Based in the South, the Igarapé Institute undertakes diagnostics, generates awareness, and co-designs solutions with public and private partners, often with the use of new technologies. Key areas of focus include (i) drug policy, (ii) citizen security, (iii) building peace, (iv) safer cities and (v) cyber security.
